Khanike bakery – support for expanding assistance
Pls, support with us a project that makes sense and will help exactly where the help is needed. Let’s support the bakery of our partner organization Shingala Azad directly in Iraq. To extend the assistance, it is necessary to buy flour worth $ 17,000 every month. We would like to thank you in advance for your valuable support, and we promise to keep you informed about the operation of the bakery where your support goes, as well as about those who we are grateful for their help, at the FB here. The bakery was built in the village of the same name with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, the Slovak Catholic Charity Organization, the Iraqi organization BCF. It ensures the production of Kurdish bread for displaced people; ensures their everyday food consumption. The bakery also provides a job opportunity for several local staff. It has been in operation for two months.
At present, the bakery provides bread not only to people who have returned from the captivity of the so-called Islamic State, but also to a children’s home in the village of Khanike where children, who have lost their parents in attack of the so-called Islamic State on the Shingal/Sinjar District in 2014, are accommodated. The monthly income for a children’s home is a total of 300 pieces of bread, which is very low. There are 30 other orphans in the refugee camp whom we want to start helping. With your support, we can help more people, esp. children.
