The Shingal area in Iraqi Kurdistan was attacked in august 2014 by ISIS. Partially, the area has been liberated, even the city itself. After two years, several people are coming back to their villages. The city is in a terrible state, people spend time here only during the day. With our organistation, we visited a village in the Shingal area, where one of the Yazidi families returned. To survive, they work in the field and try to grow vegetables. We were very happy to see good things going on in this place. We keep our fingers crossed and hope that there will be more of it.
